PlayOn from MediaMall Technologies allows popular game consoles and other media-centric network devices to access online content from providers such as Hulu, ESPN, CBS, YouTube, and Netflix. It is currently in beta, but you can already take advantage of what PlayOn has to offer. There is a 14 day trial available, and the license costs just $30. This guide will take you through the process of installing and setting up PlayOn.
Put simply, Playon acts as a middle man between the sites it is able to access content from, and your DLNA compliant device. Currently it supports the Sony PlayStation 3, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the HP MediaSmart TV as playback devices. There are also several other devices that are compatible with PlayOn, a full list is available from MediaMall. As you can see, it doesn't take a very powerful computer to run PlayOn. The main consideration is your home network.
